Helping pARENTS AND FAMILIES ACCESS THE RIGHT SEND SUPPORT

Accessing the right SEND support for your child, at the right time, can be a difficult, stressful, process.

I work with parents and carers to help them access the support their child needs, helping them navigate their way through the SEND system, working with multi-agencies and schools, to bridge the gap between support needed and support received.

My work is underpinned by my extensive experience, my qualifications, research and writing, as well as my experience as a parent having been through the SEND process for the last 15 years. This means I understand the challenges from the perspective of a parent, yet I can help you find the solutions in my role as a professional.

I bring a calm, informed, proactive approach to my work, with a unique ability to develop productive relationships between all parties, so we are solely focused on best outcomes for your child.

‘Having recently adopted 2 young children, my partner and I were suddenly thrown into the very unfamiliar world of school. We had naively assumed that the children would automatically be able to go to the local school: in fact, we had to go through a daunting appeal process to secure them places. Helen was amazing and supported us every step of the way. Thanks to her knowledge of the school system, her understanding of the unique needs of our children, her knowledge of the additional support and funding available and her incredibly patient attention to detail, the children are now amazingly well settled and well supported in the local school.’
